MTG buys Scandinavian ProSiebenSat.1 channels

Modern Times Group ( MTG ) is in talks with media group ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG to acquire the European television and radio broadcasting group SBS. The value of this group is between 1 to 1.5 billion. Sweden's MTG has a particular interest in part of Scandinavian SBS.

ProSieben is looking for the possibility of selling part or all of their activities SBS in Belgium, the Netherlands and Scandinavia. The group is already in discussions with more than 10 candidates. Proceeds from sale of assets will be used to repay debt in the German broadcaster $ 3.3 billion. ProSieben is owned by a group of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Permira.

SBS in Scandinavia, including their own television channel TV Norge, Kanal 5 and The Voice TV.
